How do I free and catch Octopuses?

First, release the Octopuses from their Jar. Then catch them on the board.

Opening the Jar

The Jar covers a 2×2 area. Make matches next to it or hit it with power-ups. Each match or power-up hit counts once, and four hits release a batch of Octopuses.

Some Jars hold more than one batch. Hit them another four times to release more Octopuses.

Catching an Octopus

An Octopus lands on a piece. Make a match that includes that piece, or clear it with a power-up, to catch the Octopus.

After two moves, an uncaught Octopus may jump to a different piece. Catch it while it’s within reach so you don’t have to follow it across the board.
